There is a dog walking route directly of site (easy walking) and close by is a riverside path running from Loch Garry to Loch Oich. Also close by are many scenic forestry commission walks with a renowned waterfall on one of the routes. Invergarry is on the Great Glen Way which runs from coast to coast (Inverness to Fort William). See Walk Highlands for more details.
How bad are the midges?
The highland midge can be fierce and prolific and we have seen some pretty large numbers of them given their favoured conditions of cool calm and shady conditions in early mornings and evenings between mid May and September. The best advice is to be prepared! They can be effectively combatted by using appropriate repellants. We sell the most effective one we have found – Smidge. You can also check the Scottish Midge Forecast for more details.
